The continuing quest for the perfect energy drink
OceanSpray recently introduced their Cranergy™ line. It's available in two flavors, Cranberry Lift and Raspberry Cranberry Lift. Cranergy can be found nationally in juice aisles across the country in 46-ounce plastic bottles or 12-ounce four-packs for “on-the-go” consumption at the suggested retail price of $3.99, and is comparable in price to similar tea-juice drinks.
I love cranberry juice but hate the fact that it has to be sweetened. This means unwanted calories and the use of high fructose corn syrup. Yuck! However, Cranergy contains only 35 calories per eight-ounce serving because Ocean Spray uses grade juice concentrate and Splenda as sweeteners. This mean that Cranergy has 50 percent fewer calories than other leading energy drinks.
The energy juice drink is also enhanced with natural energizers like green tea extract and five B vitamins. A 12 ounce bottle contains 20% fruit juice and gives you 100% DV of vitamin C and 70% DV of niacin, vitamin B12, vitamin B2, vitamin B6, and pantothenic acid.
Taste wise, it's delicious and something I'd consider drinking in the morning along with breakfast and taking my vitamins. It's not what I consider the "perfect" energy drink. But I love cranberry juice so much that I don't care.
