As we head into the new year, many of us will be looking at ways to create special gifts and party favors that won’t bust our budgets. One way is to use personalized M&M’s. These are perfect for party favors for weddings, birthdays, graduation parties, and baby showers, and terrific for goodie bags for kid parties. You can even do corporate logoed M&M’s for your business celebrations and events.
Get personal with M&M’s
I’ve ordered other customized candies, and was eager to see what M&M’s offered. Not only can you pick out your colors and messages, but you can upload a picture of a pet, the birthday boy or girl, or the lucky couple and have them printed right on the M&M’s. (Click here to learn how to customize your M&M’s.)
MyMMs.com also offers dozens of gift options to accompany your customized M&M'S, such as candy dispensers, decorative tins, and MLB-themed containers. (Baseball themed birthday party anyone?) New this year, M&M'S has teamed up with Martha Stewart for ideas to make personalized gifts even more special. (Check out the Personal Wish Jars craft. Instead of plain jars, you could use baby food jars for a baby shower party favor.)
My ordering experience
I knew personalized M&M’s would be a cute addition to goodie bags for my kids birthdays in February and March, so I decided to order three bags for each party.
But first, I checked to see what the M&M’s promotions were and saw that for every order of three 7-oz. bags, I’d get one free. Since I knew there would be more kids at Lucie’s party, I ordered her M&M’s first. I went to Custom Printing, picked two colors (pink and dark pink) and messages (“Happy Birthday” and “Lucie Caboosie” her nickname.)
After ordering her party favors, I went back to the promotions page, ordered my bonus bag, and then went back to Custom Printing to order Nathan’s three bags. (You can only get one freebie. It’s NOT one free bag for every three bags purchased.)
My total for 49 ounces of customized M&M’s was $88.89 including shipping. Ordering and check out were easy. (Note: I was given a $75 credit from M&M’s to try out their site and product.) I chose standard UPS shipping and received my order in a few days despite the slow holiday mail.
While nearly $90 may not seem cheap, I figure I spent about $2-3 per child. Add a few more items from the dollar aisle at Target and the Dollar Store, and I’ll have some really fun personalized goodie bags for Nathan’s and Lucie’s birthday parties.
