Planning this year’s healthy Thanksgiving menu is taking more time than I thought, which is cutting down my house cleaning. Luckily, I’ve discovered a few new cleaning products from Weiman that will help.
Weiman traitional and green cleaning products
Weiman carries a variety of traditional cleaning products for everything from wooden cabinets to jewelry. I tried Weiman’s E-tronic Wipes since I’m always scared of accidentally frying my electronics by spraying too much glass cleaner on them.
E-tronic Wipes repel dust and eliminate static from electronic equipment with their ammonia-free formula. I tried the wipes on two TVs, 2 DVD players, the satellite receiver, a laptop computer, two telephone hand sets, and my PC keyboard and screen. I even tried it on the clock faces of my oven and microwave. And I did this with only TWO wipes.
The wipes feel rather dry, but they work on a lot of surfaces before getting too dirty to use. I’ll be keeping a canister by my desk for sure.
Go green with Weiman’s Perfect Planet products
Weiman’s will help keep your house – and your conscious - clean with their Perfect Planet line of eco-friendly cleaning products Perfect Planet products displaying the EPA’s Design for the Environment (DfE) logo are formulated in partnership with and reviewed by EPA chemists, toxicologists, and environmental scientists, ensuring that each product has a more positive health and environmental profile than traditional cleaning products.
I tried the Squeeze & Clean Floor Cleaner and the Squeeze & Shine Floor Polish on the wood floor in my kitchen. This all-natural, plant-derived cleaning solution is free from harsh petrochemicals, ammonia, VOC’s and phosphates.
The floor cleaner is very easy to use. First, you sweep the floor. Then you squeeze the cleaner over the floor a section at a time, using a damp mop to spread it around and clean. (Squeeze then clean, get it?) The bottle has a special cap, so the cleaner is spread evenly around the floor. My only concern was that I was using too much, but I don’t think so since my floor was dry in about 10 minutes. The product has no smell, which can be a concern to people who are sensitive to fragrances. There was no sticky residue, and the floor looked and felt clean, too.
Then I used the Squeeze & Shine Floor Polish. It contains no heavy metals, ammonia or formaldehyde, and is very low in VOC’s compared to conventional floor polishes. Like the floor cleaner, it can be used on a variety of floors - finished hardwood, linoleum, vinyl, laminate, ceramic tile, marble, grouted tile, and non-porous hard surface flooring.
This did have a slight cleaning product type smell to it, which may bother more sensitive people. However, the smell went away when the floor was dry. Again, to apply you just spray the polish on the floor and then spread it around with a damp mop. When I checked the floors, they were dry after about 30 minutes. My kitchen floor had a lovely sheen to it and looked a lot better than usual.
Weiman products are available at Target, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Kroger grocery stores, Ace Hardware, and Home Depot.
