Got Your Copy of High School Musical 2 Yet?
Now, my kids aren't into High School Musical, but many of my friends' kids are. Even so, when the nice folks at Click-Com.com offered to send me a review copy of High School Musical 2 (the Extended Edition) I nearly passed. In fact, I started making the sign of the cross with my finger to ward it off. HSM2...scary!
Then I remembered how much my friend Maria's girls were into the first movie. So I told them to send it figuring I could give my copy to Maria after I was done reviewing it.
People are as crazy about High School Musical as they are about Hanna Montana. When High School Musical 2 was released yesterday on DVD, my friend Karen immediately went out and bought it. She told me they've already watch it three times.
And seeing how several kids on the small holiday giving tree at my daughter's preschool asked for ANYTHING High School Musical, you know it's a bona fide phenomenon. Well that and the fact that we call a mom at school we don't like "Sharpay."
(Yes, my friends had to explain to me that Sharpay is a scheming drama queen who is always at the center of intrigue. Pop culture at its best, I guess. Sigh.)
In fact, according to the folks at Disney, High School Musical 2 is the most watched cable telecast of all time, and it's the first Disney Channel original movie ever released in Blu-ray® High Definition.
Oh my.
I can't figure out why Disney's calling it a holiday gift (unless you celebrate Hanukkah) because no one can wait until Christmas to open and watch it. In fact, I don't know why I'm posting about this at all. You probably were at Wal-Mart a 7 a.m. to pick up your copy High School Musical 2. After all you HAD to have the sequel along with the music videos, sing-along and karaoke features, and all that behind-the-scenes action!
Me? I'm sending the kids over to Maria's to watch it.
