Do you ever have those times when blogging feels like a chore? You don't feel like writing, and all you want to do is get into bed and watch Star Trek reruns on TV?
I'm having one of those days, weeks, months... years.
It's not writer's block. It's just not finding joy in what I have been blogging lately. There's something about low paying, sponsored posting which is depressing I guess.
Dang, after setting goals at the beginning of the year, it looks like I have to reconsider some of them or add more. Luckily, I've been working with Lisa Easton at Shoot for the Moon Coaching. She just emailed me the other day to see where I was at in my business goals that I set in December, and has asked me to come up with a new set for Q2.
After attending the Women, Action & Media Conference in Boston last weekend, and having my writing very positively critiqued by Rebecca Traister of Salon.com, I think it's time to aim higher. I need to pursue loftier goals like promoting MOTHERS rights.
Just before that I attended the Northern Colorado Writer's Conference, which inspired me to start pursuing magazine writing. I also want to work on getting more freelance copywriting projects - press releases, newsletters, editing white papers, etc. I enjoy marketing communication writing, and it pays well.
Sorry Captain Picard, it's time to get back to work...
