Having been so consumed with writing and tweaking my blogs this summer, I've really duffed off on reading blogs with the exception of a very small handful. Then as I went through my blogroll here, I thought, "Why am I reading this crap?" and started cleaning it up.
Then I came across Alway's Sentimental...'s post, Can you say B-O-R-I-N-G?:
So for the first time ever I am sticking my neck out and saying, "Why are some of the more popular bloggers actually popular? Because they are that good or because they closely resemble that clique in high school where everyone says, "I hang out with xxxx!" So everyone wants to be a part of xxxx. Meaning the name is popular but the writing is not necessarily deserving of the popularity. My opinion, I seek out good writing, not necessarily women with gazillion comments. More comments doesn't necessarily mean good writing.
Brava! Touche! Yeah baby, I dig your jive! I'm in a blog reading rut and want to find blogs that are new to me. So off I go to BlogExplosion to see what's out there, to see what I've blogmarked in the past, and maybe read blogs that have nothing to do with parenting or kids. While this doesn't mean I'm going to start reading political blogs, I do need to get out of my comfort zone.
Anyone care to join me?
