My regular readers (all three of you) have probably noticed that I haven't been updating my blog much lately. The work with My Charter School has turned into part-time job. I must be putting in at least 15 to 20 hours a week.
However, as I've said all along, getting this school opened is an exciting and challenging project. Since I'm learning so much, I'm especially enjoying it. I'm also doing this with a great bunch of very involved parents - very inspiring to say the least.
Our board's president resigned last week since we've offered him the job of principal (for which he's very qualified). We're incredibly lucky to have him in that position. We reorganized the board last night, and added a couple of new members.
And I'm thrilled to announce that I'm now president of the board of directors.
Just a few months ago I was thinking of resigning since I felt I wasn't contributing much and the board could do better with someone else. Ironic, isn't it?
