(I type this as Boo Girl sits on my bed drinking a bottle and watching SpongeBob on TV.)
Oh, so SpongeBob isn't gay after all. He's just teaches tolerance and diversity, which according to the conservative Family Research Council, is "coded language that is regularly used by the homosexual community." Oh geez louise, these people see a homosexual behind every door, hiding in the bushes, just waiting to pounce on our kids.
Who's next, Mr. Rogers? After all, a man wearing a cardigan looks a little fey. And what about Bert and Ernie, two single males who've been living together for decades?
Needless to say the media is having a lot of fun with this because it makes Dr. James Dobson, Focus on the Family and similar groups look as ridiculous and petty as they truly are - see the editorial from the Los Angeles Times, Yellow and porous and outed, and the extremely funny Queer Eye for the Straight Cartoon Guy by Jill Rachel Jacobs of the Common Dreams News Center.
On today's gay agenda: In order to show support for diversity, tolerance, and picked on cartoon characters, convince American parents to go to Target and buy SpongeBob t-shirts for their families. We're loud, we're proud, and we dig SpongeBob!
