Yep, we're having one of those days. Actually one of those nights. Monkey Boy woke me up at midnight saying that his bed was wet. Then he projectile vomited all over my legs, my bed, my heating pad for my bad back, the bed skirt, and the floor.
So I stripped and remade the bed for the third time that week (the first time to wash the sheets because they needed it, the second time because Boo Girl's diaper didn't keep up with her peeing output when she was sitting on my bed one morning).
Then Big Bad Dad noticed that Monkey Boy had a bloody nose. And for the life of me, I can't figure out how having a bloody nose makes you puke or vice versa.
So after we helped him get cleaned up and into new pjs, I started a load of laundry after changing into clean pajamas myself. Then Monkey Boy and I got into his bed which wasn't wet after all. He fell asleep about 30 minutes later, and I went back to my room.
At 2:30 a.m., he woke us up yelling. He had vomited Spaghetti-Os all over himself, his bed, Mr. Bunny, Substitute Bunny, and one pillow. So I stripped him down to his Pull-up and sent him into my room to snuggle with Big Bad Dad to keep warm.
I removed the sheets, stuffed animals, mattress cover, and pillow and took them downstairs. And started another load after putting the previous one in the dryer. I then remade his bed and got Monkey Boy another pair of clean pjs. It was 3 a.m.
Then Boo Girl woke up screaming, demanding a bottle.
After retrieving my glasses, all three of us went downstairs. Boo Girl had her bottle while we watched Zoboomafoo on PBSKids.
The kids were having a great time, even though Monkey Boy said his tummy hurt. Then he threw up again, all over himself, the couch, a throw pillow, the floor, and the lap blanket.
By that time, one load of laundry was dry. So I started a new load with all the stuff from the couch. Then I sprayed carpet cleaner on the floor and couch and wiped the puke up as best as I could. Then I got him another clean pair of pajamas. (Lucky for me I make sure the kids have enough pairs for every day of the week just in case sh*t like this happens.)
It was nearly 4 a.m. I was exhausted so I shut off the TV, and tried to get all three of us in Monkey Boys' bed. Boo Girl wasn't going along with it and started whining.
I couldn't deal with it anymore and lost it. I put her in her crib and told Monkey Boy to go to sleep. Right now! I went to bed, but after 10 minutes of screaming, I got Boo Girl out of her crib, retrieved another bottle, and got back into our bed with her.
It was around 4:20 a.m. when she finished her bottle and fell asleep snuggled between her parents. I think I fell asleep immediately after she did.
I woke up slightly after Big Bad Dad got up at 6:30 a.m. but really didn't get up until he left at 7:30 a.m. Since Boo Girl was still asleep, I crept out of my room and found Monkey Boy on the couch watching cartoons.
Then there was alot of running around trying to do more laundry, cleaning up the kitchen, calling Monkey Boy in sick at school, and arranging for someone to take the newsletters I do for the Tri-Towns MOMS Club to the monthly meeting.
Boo Girl woke up in a terrific mood. Monkey Boy said he felt fine but hungry. I prepared chicken-noodle soup for him, which he ate with no ill effects. Boo Girl had chips and apples for breakfast.
By 10 a.m. they were playing and fighting as usual. The only one who was out of sorts was me, trying to get the laundry done and clean up the mess Boo Girl made in her room with the talcum powder.
Then the kids took a long nap this afternoon on the couch while I got caught up with the laundry and my blogs. Then my sister called asking if I had forgotten my nephew, Adam's first birthday. I had and felt terrible. So I quickly posted a birthday greeting.
Just another day at the Mamarant Ranch.
